2004

Our first meeting was in February of 2004. We met with about 10 people who were interested. At that time we determined that there was enough interest to start a society and planned to meet again in March.

Most of that first year was spent in organizing our Society.

Some of the things we accomplished that first year:

Chose a name and set up a meeting date and place.

Developed bylaws.

Elected Officers and defined their duties.

Publicity Chairman – Lois Davis

Agreed to hold our first National Juried Show in 2005 and scheduled Maggie Price as the juror.

Planned and held a three day workshop by Mary Ann Stafford

Developed a website for the Society and a brochure.

Accepted to have a display booth at the River Market in conjunction with the opening of the Clinton Library.

This is quite a list of accomplishments for a brand new society. Our meetings were attended by an average of 18 people.
