2010 Meeting and Program Schedule

Our monthly meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 3 (Sister Janis Campbell Conference Room) of St. Vincent's Doctors Hospital.

January - Marjorie Smith, Professor of Art at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, spoke on the history of drawing and her area of expertise, silverpoint.

February - Vicki Morgan and Becky Harris from the Arkansas-Democrat presented a program on creating websites and pre-press printing practices for reproducing images of art.

March - Arkansas Pastel Society members Ruth Byrn, Anne Lyon and Susan Hurst presented a most informative program on their “Tricks & Tips” in working with the medium of pastel.

April 6th - Arkansas Democrat-Gazette artist John Deering will demonstrate his painting technique and talk about his work as a political illustrator and sculptor.

May 4th - Water color artist Vickie Koveleski spoke to Arkansas Pastel Society members sharing how her life’s experiences had led to the creation of her paintings and motivated her as an artist.

June 8th - Nationally known pastelist Susan Ogilvie presented a power point presentation of her work from sketch to completion. Susan conducted the 2010 workshop for the Arkansas Pastel Society, June 7-11.

July 5th - Oil Pastelist Win Bruhl will present the program.
