Congratulations to the following Arkansas Pastel Society members who had paintings accepted in the Arkansas Pastel National Show; Patricia Hearn, Joanne Kunnath, Sue Shields, Virmarie DePoyster, Anne Lyon, Debbie Strobel, Sheliah Halderman, Caryl Joy Young, Diana Shearon, Sandy Bennett, Ruth Byrn, Susan Hurst, Janie Hathoot, Lois Davis, and Brent Pickens. Susan Hurst won the the Terry Ludwig Award and Janie Hathoot won the People’s Choice Award.
Susan Hurst is exhibiting at Gallery 726 in Hot Springs during the month of February.
Lois Davis is currently showing work at the Ketz Gallery in downtown North Little Rock.
Virmarie DePoyster will be the featured artist for the month of March at Gallery 726, 726 Central Avenue in Hot Springs.
Debbie Strobel will exhibit her work at the Community Bakery on Main Street in downtown Little Rock during the month of March.
Sister Maria Liebeck will have a show of her work at Community Bakery in Little Rock during the month of April. She sold one of the two paintings she had accepted in the Fellowship Bible show.

Melanie Johnston continues to exhibit her work at Starving Artist Cafe where she has sold six pieces.
The Monday Studio Group, (APS members Shirley Anderson, Barbara Seibel, Sue Shields and Caryl Joy Young) exhibited at the South Arkansas Art Center in El Dorado during the month of September and will exhibit at Garvan Woodland Gardens during the month of October.
Debbie Strobel and Virmarie Depoyster have both had paintings accepted for the 2010 CARTI calendar. Virmarie will be featured in June and Debbie will be featured in October.
Virmarie DePoyster’s painting titled “City I” from her series “The City Glows”, won the Arkansas Craft Guild poster competition. The painting appeared on promotional materials for the Arkansas Craft Guild’s 30th Christmas Showcase. See her winning image at www.virmarie.com. Virmarie Depoyster’s work is now carried at the Heights Gallery in Little Rock.
APS members Caryl Joy Young, Sue Shields, Barbara Seible and Shirley Anderson have published a book titled “The Monday Studio”.
